What started as a secret mission became less of a "secret" and everyone hired along eventually forgot what the "mission" entailed. Group C has stumbled, tripped, and charmed their way through the streets of Dockensdale and into another plane altogether. The group is composed of former criminals still committing crimes, mercenaries running from their past, and some familiar faces from across Ilderon just trying to do the right thing.
Ardorserii has erupted into chaos. But that doesn’t mean the rest of the world is going to wait to see the results. In the neighboring country of Alilnegi, a ship belonging to the Archblight has washed ashore. The combined military organization of Nozeram has fought the vile remnants of the shatterer’s faction back to the corner of the world, and somehow two of their ships have managed to slip into the Inner Sea. Sworn to protect the world from the destructive tierii, Nozeram is scrambling to find the remaining ship.
On the shores of Alilnegi something even stranger has gripped the intellectual minds of Nozeram. Slabs of marble inscribed with runes from the ancient dead Kyic Empire were found among the Archblight shipwreck. With marble only being mined and sold from one place in all of Ilderon, Marbleport, that means someone within Alilnegi has been working with the Archblight, and who knows how far the corruption reaches.
Uncertain of who she can trust, Claw Counselor Naivara has dispatched her personal scribe to travel to Dockensdale and survey the situation. Picking up some extra well equipped muscle along the way, their story begins in the port city of Dockensdale.
Tasked by the goddess of death to find a group of smugglers who were sneaking souls in and out of the afterlife, a group of adventurers stumbled onto a break in the arcane fabric of their world. They destroyed the magical den of doors they were hunting for and in the resulting chaos, they found themselves trapped in the crumbling city of Kalcrest. They would simply walk home except for fact that Kalcrest was destroyed 16 years ago when a magical catastrophe slid the city off a cliffside into the sea below. The city now exists in a demi-plane that serves as a domain for a classically mysterious and dark overlord. The inhabitants of the dying city call it Isildread.
With no way back home they’ve had to blend in with the citizens of Isildread. This has meant complying with the overlord’s tyrannical demands to stay out of his line of sight. Strange faces have been sighted throughout the Overlord’s tower. On the group’s first night within the city, they spotted Supreme Light Imen Solemn eating dinner with the Overlord. Even stranger, in the past few days, some citizens have reportedly seen dirty discarded Sunyith robes in the abandon alleys of town.
A single ray of hope exists in the form of a town guard the adventurers met, a young teenage girl by the name of Galseena. The girl claims to know a group of Elders who survived the sundering of Kalcrest and are hidden away in Isildread she claims the Elders have ways of communicating past the massive wall of water that surrounds and encompasses the town, but their group is secretive and Galseena is less than helpful. After two weeks of trying to build favor with Galseena the party has resorted to alternative solutions. They find themselves on the very edge of the town, where a desperate member of their group attempts to pray to her deity. Their story begins in the shallow waters of the Rotwood.
The capital city of Ardor looms on the horizon beyond the pleasant manors of Somar Villa. The party composed of Alilnegian citizens, diplomats, and refugees has traveled the treacherous journey from Dockensdale to Ardor with the aim of negotiating a ceasefire between Ardorserii and Alilnegi.
Each member of the group is bound by oaths to political leaders, family members, or mysterious gods. Even though different reasons have tied them together, the common goal moving them forward is if they are successful, Supreme Light Primada will lend a battalion of soldiers to aid in liberating the lost city of Isildread.
The party has been stalked by shadowy saboteurs at every turn along every road. The infamy of their reputation preceded them in every town they ventured to. Alilharen has stopped the group’s procession and informed them Somar Villa is home to some of the richest and most powerful voices in Ardorian politics. Without Celebris and no simple way to get an immediate audience with Ardorserii’s newly appointed Magnate, Alilharen has stressed the party rest and find political allies in Somar Villa before heading into the capital.
