Composed of traveling Ardorian adventurers and Alilnegians seeking to do the right thing Group B evolved from the struggles of Tristan Filanth. Bonded by fate the group met together to tackle a problem facing the Ardorian throne. From there they moved to save missing headmistress of the Arcane University. They've been able to put aside their personal wants and needs and follow their guiding principle in most difficult situations: For the Greater Good.
The bonds that once held together peace between the Sunserii nations are tearing at the seams. Headmaster Deelah Wynrona, who acts as the voice of reason within the ambitious nation of Alilnegi, has been missing for an entire month. Without their eternal matron, Alilnegi looks towards their inexperienced Sky Queen to steer them through the troubled waters. Free of Wynrona’s careful guidance, the country has began engaging in border skirmishes with its neighbor, Ardorserii.
Wynrona’s apprentice, Effie Freedomfall, was traveling abroad in the nation of Ardorserii when she learned of her mistress’s disappearance. After searching down the foreign country for clues, she encountered a plot against the Ardorserii government to throw the country into chaos using powerful magical relics. She found allies in a group of adventurers with ties between Alilnegi and Ardorserii’s nobility. Bonded by fate, the party tracked down two earthfire relics and managed to capture the soul of a powerful undead warlock. With the power of one of the earthfire relics, Effie and the party will be capable of locating her mistress and tracking her down. If they can use it without going mad.
The party is carrying two items of immeasurable power, an anthology of deadly new researched soul magic, and a fragment of bronze containing the soul of a warlock who had a hand in all of the moving schemes. Certain that they would soon need the safety of the Mapheus University, the party departed towards the Heartland of Alilnegi to deposit their treasures in the University’s vaults. While on the roads, the party was stopped south of the Alilnegi forests. A messenger from the town of Forestfall predicted and awaited the party’s arrival. A person claiming to see the future fled to Forestfall where she could be protected from the authorities of Alyan and Alilnegi by the powerful wolf spirit that resides there.
The would-be clairvoyant sent a dire word ahead requesting the party’s aid. Their story begins outside the quiet gates of Forestfall.
Lost Legends have returned to the world of Ilderon. Reports have reached the Mapheus University that the city of Ardor in the neighboring country was nearly destroy when caught between two clashing gods. As a result of their fight, a permanent swirling tempest of souls rages over the foreign city. Citizens and travels run the risk of being possessed by the restless spirits while traveling through the region. Even though Ardorserii and Alilnegi are at war, the ghostly storm could pose a threat to all of Ilderon. It falls on the scholars of the diplomatically neutral Mapheus University to find a solution to close it.
Headmistress Deelah Wynrona has selected her most trusted professor, Effie Freedomfall, to scout the situation and to create a plan to dissipate the storm. In order to aid Effie before she departs, Deelah has dispatched her personal agents on a goodwill mission to the city of Nozendale. There is hope that the struggling military organization of Nozeram--devoted to keeping undead threats at bay in Ilderon--would be willing to share any tomes of knowledge they have on soul magic with the Mapheus University.
While retrieving the tomes, the party has also been tasked with delivering a letter requesting an appeal a prisoner by the name of Haossac Niven within the dungeons of Nozendale. The powerful emotional call of Nozendale beckons for the party, in addition to their former traveling companion being jailed in the city, lost family members of living and fallen companions reside somewhere within the defensive ports. Their story begins on the streets of Nozendale.
Silence fills the halls of the Arcane college known as the Mapheus University. The murder of a prominent professor, Arch Arcanist Eriias Menlor, has shocked the inhabitants of the University to their core. The magical campus has always served as a neutral diplomatic refuge where any person of any race or creed could come study and join in the like minded pursuit of knowledge. Arch Arcanist Eriias Menlor was the world’s greatest expert in regards to alchemy. No one is certain who killed him or why. Perhaps the murderer had a vendetta against Menlor because they were a victim of one of Menlor’s toxic concoctions, or perhaps Menlor had a great project in the works that inspired jealousy in a colleague. For now, only one thing is certain: the Mapheus University is not the safe haven it once was.
With other matters in the world demanding her attention, the immortal matriarch of the university, Headmistress Deelah Wynrona, has called upon a group of individuals from her trusted inner circle to look into the murder. Her wish is for whomever carried out the awful act to be brought to light and to be rooted out of the Mapheus University. Unfortunately, In recent months many troubling internal events have plagued the university. Entire wards of the University were set ablaze, books continuing the knowledge of powerful spells went missing once, and guards that protect the University’s prime artifact vault were once compromised. Looking into who killed Arch Arcanist Menlor might reveal a larger collection of hidden enemies within the magical university.
