Fractis was always good at spotting cheats and getting information. In Fact he excelled at it. He learned to play cards and would get people to tell him things without realizing it. Fractis is quite jaded. Growing up in a gambling house has taught him that even thieves cheaters and gamblers are honest folks just trying to make a living. The real shady stuff has always been from the Hall not from the card players. He assumes that everyone cheats and steals as a way of life. Even the priests back home in their sanctimonious airs are as corrupt as the masters of the Hall. Fractis will keep honing his skills to protect him from being fooled.
Oughan was born a member of Anga Yandar, (Tribe of the Sky/Mountains) in north west Red Axe. They were a small mixed group of Orcs and Half-Orcs, with a few members of other races. He was branded with the double upward pointing arrows marking him as a tribe member. He felt the primal rage of a Barbarian, receiving a shield brand, but later grew curious about the animals around him. He became an apprentice to the tribe's shaman, adding First Wind to his name, and a wolf's head brand to his arm. When the tribe would not bow to the Crimson Keep, they fought, and failed, to survive. As far as he knows he is the only survivor. His curiosity about animals took him to Alilnegi, and the Mapheus University, where he studied briefly but was not taken seriously. He saw that as a challenge, and wrote the small volume, Western Heights: Red Axe Mountain Beasts. The book gained him a measure of respect, and he joined the poorly funded zoology department as a field researcher.

The tome was something much more sinister in nature, it siphoned his life force and left him as an undead husk of a man. He blends into Tierii society and lives in the Darken Vale. He spends his time diplomatically advocating for the rights of the undead and uses his arcane knowledge to help those who are in need of his services.

Malach was an exile from the Storm Yandar. One night, after a long day of studying with the Mist Yandar, Malach retired to his quarters for the night. As he slept, a man crept into his room and moved to slit Malach’s throat. The assassin from his former tribe was unsteady and rested a hand on the bed, waking Malach. Startled, Malach threw his arm in a wide arc, the magic latent in his bloodline springing to action, creating a knife of ice in his hand, dispatching the assassin. With his life in jeopardy, Malach opted to flee the country, traveling to Seadale to continue the study of the magic within him, hoping against all hope to find answers in his father’s abilities. Malach stays quiet for the most part, but finds his temper to be his vice. Fiercely loyal, he does not hesitate to stand in front of an ally to protect them if they are wounded. He is not the brightest by any means, and sometimes fails to notice the obvious in a conversation, but he more than makes up for his shortcomings with the passion in his heart.
